'Rigidity' Of HAP Leaves Domestic Abuse Victim In Athlone Emergency Accommodation For 18 Months

A domestic abuse victim has been living in Athlone emergency accommodation for a year and a half due to the 'rigidity' of HAP.

Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy has raised her case in the Dáil, calling for the scheme to be reviewed.

He says the woman isn't eligible for HAP, because the property she's looking to rent is €50 over the limit.
