RSA Urge Caution This Morning Amid After Affects Of Heavy Midlands Snow Fall

There's widespread closures of schools and businesses across the region today.

Schools and businesses across the midlands will remain closed today after heavy snowfall over the weekend.

100s of ESB customers in Laois are still without power this morning.

With just over 40,000 Homes, farms and businesses in across South Leinster and Munster worst-affected.

The HSE says outpatient services will be cancelled at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise today.

Many schools in Laois are closed for the day, while The RSA is urging motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution this morning.

A status yellow warning for low temperatures and ice still in place for the entire country until Thursday.

Met Éireann forecaster Mark Bowe says the cold temperatures are set to stay for a while longer:

All rail routes - except one - will operate today, but there could be delays in areas affected by snow.

Trains from Limerick through Nenagh to Ballybrophy will NOT run this morning due to the weather conditions.
