School Transport Fees May Return Next Year

Midlands TD says families are now paying out more to find ways to school.

The Tánaiste says school transport fees may be re-introduced next year, as oversubscribing has become an issue.

Fees were waived in an effort to save families 650 euro this year, but now thousands are going without a place on the bus.

A meeting is being held in Laois this evening as five pupils in Emo, Vicarstown and The Rock were not allocated seats.

Longford Westmeath TD Sorca Clarke says the money that families should have been saving, is now being used to find alternative ways to get their kids to school:
