Serious Concerns Over Condition Of Laois Primary School

The parish priest says it's essential work is carried out.

Children in rural areas in the midlands deserves the same school buildings and opportunities as those in urban areas.

That's the view of Laois priest Father Paddy Byrne, who says the classrooms in Scoil Mhuire in Abbeyleix need to be upgraded and maintained.

It follows concerns from staff, parents and public representatives about dampness and lack of insulation in the building.
