Fine Gael's Micháel Carrigy is hoping to secure the 4th or 5th seat in the Longford Westmeath constituency.
This comes following count eight in the Athlone Centre bringing him to a total of 7,630, making him fourth in line for a seat in the Dáil.
He has served as a Senator since April 2020.
