Smaller Class Sizes To Curb Teacher Retention Crisis - TUI

A new Schooldays.ie is highlighting stress and burnout across the profession.

The Irish education system has to manage its class sizes in order to beat a teacher retention crisis.

That's the view of the TUI'S General Secretary, Tullamore's Michael Gillespie as a new survey is highlighting continued stress and burnout across the sector.

The study by Schooldays.ie found 75% of those surveyed are working over contracted hours every day with 45% expressing concern over continuous assessment in secondary schools.
