A fully restored set of pipes belonging to a renowned Laois piper is to be presented to the Clonaslee St Patrick's Day Committee this weekend.
Frank was the father of RTE Gaelic Games Commentor Mick Dunne and grandfather of former RTE newsreader Eileen Dunne, and passed away in 1979.
Alongside his history as a member of the Laois Brigade of the Old IRA, he also taught and formed pipe bands across the county, and in Mountbolus in Offaly.
The Dunne family had the pipes restored a number of years ago,
The presentation will take place this Sunday at 2pm at the town's bridge, followed by the playing of the pipes in a parade throughout the town.
