Sales of electric vehicles in the midlands are surging, according to new data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
EV sales from January to April have jumped 64% in Offaly, 62% in Westmeath, and 38% in Laois when compared to the same period last year.
While the market share of EV's in the county is up as well.
Westmeath saw the biggest increase of share from 1% to 1.3, it's up just under .2% in Offaly, and .1% in Laois.
Sales have increased in 25 counties during the first four months of the year.
