Taoiseach Reaffirming His Commitment To Bord Na Móna Workers

He's explaining why a Just Transition wasn't implemented sooner.

The Taoiseach says while jobs in the midlands may become redundant, people never should.

Leo Varadkar says he's committed to providing work for those affected by the closure of Bord na Móna.

Under Fine Gael's Just Transition plans, 400 jobs will be available in retrofitting homes in the region and another 100 in the restoration of bogs.

But the government has been facing criticism for not anticipating the end of peat harvesting sooner.
