A man in his 20s was taken to hospital following the attack.
A teenager arrested in relation to an assault in Laois on Sunday evening has been released, pending a referral to the juvenile diversion programme.
It occurred on Bull Lane around 5.55pm, with one man aged in his 20s requiring hospital treatment as a result.
Their injuries were non-life threatening.
