Those Teaching Abroad Must Be Incentivised To Return Home To Aid Shortage

The call is coming from a former president of the retired teachers association.

Retired Teachers who return to the classroom are paid and treated like novices - despite having over 40 years experience in some cases. 

Former president of the retired teachers association Mountmellick's Sheila Coyle also says young people must be incentivised to return from places like Dubai to aid the current shortage. 

Last year - the number of former teachers returning to the classroom rose by over 20%.
