Author John G O'Dwyer has launched a new book on walking trails in the country.
Three of Ireland's Best Walks are located in the midlands.
That's according to author John G O'Dwyer who's just launched a new book entitled 50 Best Irish Walks - Easy to Moderate.
Lough Boora; the Leafy Loop, Durrow; and the Abbeyleix Bog Walk all make the list, along with 47 other routes around the country.
Taking anywhere from 1.5 to 4.5 hours to complete, the comprehensive walk descriptions are accompanied by detailed maps and photographs of the stunning Irish landscape.
