It was revealed yesterday the Garda had been re-instated.
The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee says the time spent investigating a midlands Garda who was suspended after giving a pensioner a bike during the pandemic is "bizarre."
Commissioner Drew Harris appeared before the committee, where it was revealed the Westmeath Garda was re-instated following the incident in 2020.
The GRA welcomed the decision, and said it endorsed the integrity of his actions and decision making.
