The French and German teacher died on Sunday.
Tributes are being paid to a young midlands teacher who passed away suddenly.
Emily Seery, who taught French and German in Coláiste Íosagáin, Portarlington, died on Monday.
She is survived by her husband Vinnie, a teacher in St. Joseph's, Rochfortbridge and son Louie.
The mum was was heavily involved in the school's musical productions.
Coláiste Íosagáin, Principal Seamus Bennett says "We learned with shock and sadness about the sudden and unexpected death of our friend and colleague Emily Seery. As news filtered through yesterday morning our school was eerily noiseless. Our busy corridors which normally bustle as over 1000 students walk through them were respectfully quiet.
However our students and staff were excellent and everyone rallied around. We are so proud of our staff and students and the sensitivity and respect they showed yesterday. Although we are large in size, we pride ourselves on the sense of care and community which permeates our school. That is evident always but even more so yesterday.
As a Catholic school it was important that we came together yesterday as a community of faith. We had a staff prayer service at lunchtime followed by a student led service just before the end of the school day. Our school chaplains Sr. Maureeen O’Rourke and Fr. Joe O’Neill were centrally involved. We are conscious that we are not the only school affected by the sudden death of Emily. "
