One of Ireland's most popular agri shows is returning to the midlands.
The Tullamore Show is officially making its comeback this summer.
It's been confirmed the popular agricultural event will return on 14th August at the Butterfield Estate in Blueball, following a two-year covid-enforced break.
The FBD National Livestock Show will also see the best of Irish livestock return to the showing ring.
Chairperson Joe Molloy says members of the farming community are alreay busy preparing for the event:
Speaking at the recent Tullamore Show AGM, Joe stated;
"We are very optimistic the show would return in 2022, however given the recent changes in Covid regulations plans are fully underway to ensure that the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show goes ahead as near to normal as possible this August.
"It has been a tough two years for us, and the uncertainty has certainly brought its challenges.
"With the recent announcement of lifting the restrictions, our plans are well underway with the continuous help of our hardworking committee and volunteers, we look forward to working together to once again stage Irelands Premier Show."
Michael Dolan, chair of the Livestock Committee, has noted a huge appetite for people to get back into the showing ring.
He added that a lot of young people have developed an interest in showing livestock and that some classes may be adjusted to allow for more young stock and young handlers.
