Lidl is applying for planning permission for stores in Mountmellick and Graiguecullen.
It looks like Laois shoppers could be in line for a third, and fourth, Lidl shop in the county.
The Supermarket chain is applying for planning permission for a new store in Mountmellick.
The German company has shops in Portlaoise and Portarlington, and has already lodged planning permission for a new shop in Graiguecullen.
The proposed Mountmellick development will be on the former Central/Nissan Garage complex on Emmett Street.
Plans account for the demolition of eight existing buildings to make way for the construction of a two storey grocery store and off license with a net retail sales area of around 3,500 squared metres.
