An upgrade to the water network in a Westmeath town is set to be carried out in the coming months.
2.5km of water mains in Athlone. are to be upgraded and expanded by Uisce Eireann.
The works are taking place at Coosan and along the Cornamagh Road and Brawny Road, with site investigation works underway.
The main works will be carried out in phases over the next six months in order to minimise disruption to the local community.
