The teenager passed away in a quad bike accident on Sunday afternoon.
A midlands teen who passed away in a quad bike incident is being described as 'vibrant and determined.'
David Brown passed away in the accident in a wooded area in Ballyshanduff, near Ballybrittas, on Sunday afternoon.
In a tribute on Facebook, Portlaoise GAA have described the teen as a 'hero in the eyes of so many of our youngest.'
St. Mary's CBS in Portlaoise, where David was a third year student, says he was a 'much-loved, charming and vibrant' student.
Chairman of Portlaoise GAA, Eamon Fennelly, has been speaking to Midlands 103's Kamron Clarke, and says there's a real ache in everyone's hearts after David's death:
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the incident, and are asking anyone with any information to come forward, or to contact Portlaoise Garda Station.
The other boy involved was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, where he's being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
As a school community, we are heartbroken to learn of the sudden passing of our much loved, charming and vibrant 3rd year student, David Brown. ❤️🖤
