It follows Ericsson announcing the loss of 29 jobs in Athlone.

A Westmeath business chamber is reassuring people amid job losses in the county.

Ericsson is announcing 29 redundancies in the town, through a voluntary severance programme.

The company has had a base in the Westmeath town for over 50 years, and and recently commenced a three-year multi million euro investment into the facility.

The message from Athlone Chamber of Commerce CEO Tommy Hogan, is that Ericsson is here to stay for the long-term:
