Westmeath Garda are warning tradespeople and professionals to double check their QR codes in order to prevent 'quishing.'

Qushing is a scam where a fake QR code sticker is placed over the original QR code.

The link sends users to a fake website asking them to input their credit card details and other sensitive information.

It's most common on parking meters but stickers can be placed in other public places including shops.
