There's been a surge in murmuration tourism as Westmeath lakes are drawing visitors eager to witness flocks of starlings in motion.
Photographer James Crombie, who has documented the spectacle for five winters, brought global attention with his image books of Murmurations at Lough Ennell in Mullingar.
According to BirdWatch Ireland, public interest in the phenomenon has risen sharply, with the site now one of the country’s most reliable displays.
