A man has been jailed for his part in a "sophisticated" cannabis grow operation in Roscommon.
The Irish Independent is reporting 34 year old Edgaras Paulaskas from 4 Greenshank Street, Aston Village, Drogheda, in Louth has been given a 20 month sentence for working in the growhouse in the village of Loughlynn.
His co-accused, Evaldas Juknevicus of 12, Millbrook, Portlaoise, in Laois, and Rimas Abdrachimovas of 57 Laburnum Drive, Termon Abbey, Drogheda, in Louth both received custodial sentences after pleading guilty to cannabis cultivation last year.
In a search of a property in Cloonmullin, gardaí discovered €725,000 worth of cannabis with all three of the accused found hiding under insulation in the attic and on the ground floor of the property.
Mr Paulaskas had a previous 18 suspended sentence for a similar offence from Monaghan Circuit Criminal Court.
