His garage had been built by his father three decades ago.

A Westmeath community is rallying around a local mechanic after his garage was destroyed in a fire.

Enda Kilmurray was working in the garage in Moyvore - built by his late father 30 years ago - when the blaze broke out last month.

A number of vehicles, along with priceless tools and equipment, were engulfed in flames within minutes.

Family friends have organised an online fundraiser and raffle in response, with over 23,000 euro raised already.
