The latest GeoDirectory shows the vacancy rate for Westmeath stands at 4.6%.
The vacancy rate for houses across the country is at its lowest level ever.
However, the latest residential buildings report from GeoDirectory shows Westmeath is the only midlands county with a higher vacancy rate than the national average.
4.6% of houses are lying empty in the county, compared to 3.7% across the country.
The figure is 3.5% in Offaly, and 2.6 per cent in Laois.
