Over 3,000 Leaving cert students in the Midlands are receiving their results this morning.
A Westmeath guidance counsellor says the new system, where students get LC results today and college offers on Thursday will take some stress out of the process.
Betty McLaughlin from CBS Mullingar is encouraging students not to suffer alone if they don't achieve what they hoped for and contact their guidance counsellor for advice.
She has this advice for those receiving results:
Leaving Cert students in the midlands are “relieved” to have the long wait finally over, as they receive their results today.
Figures show the results this year are broadly in line with previous years.
In Athlone Community College, Emma Lennon got 7 H1s, with Luka Moric also achieving high points with 6 H1s.
Meanwhile, Ciara Eighan from St. Joseph’s Secondary School in Rochfortbridge is also celebrating 7H1s.
Only five students around the country receiving the maximum marks available – 8 H1s.
First round college offers will be made on Thursday.
