Local authorities in Westmeath, Offaly and Laois have provisioned free parking in the month of December.
Last minute Christmas shoppers will have one less thing to worry about with free parking being offered across the midlands this festive season.
It will be for select times and in select locations only, so motorists are asked to check before they pay.
Offaly
On-street parking is free in Birr for 1 hour everyday for the month, and for 2 hours in Edenderry - which must be taken in one block.
Tullamore is offering 1 hour on street parking free for December, while there is free all day parking at Daingean Road carpark and the first three hours of parking in O'Neill's Place carpark is being offered free of charge.
Laois
2 hours of parking without charge will be available on the next three Saturdays - the 9th, 16th and 23rd in Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick.
Westmeath,
Public carparks in Athlone will have parking free from the 16th to the 23rd inclusive.
6 days of off-street parking with no charge is on offer in Mullingar - every Friday and Saturday from the 9th to the 22nd, including Thursday the 21st.
