There will be big interest in the opening round of the Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues this weekend.
First into action in thye Football League will be Offaly who face Cork at Pairc Ui Caoimh tomorrow evening at 6pm.
On Sunday Westmeath host Clare and Laois visit Roscommon in Division two at 2pm.
In the Hurling league Eddie Brennan's Laois are at home to Wexford tomorrow evening at MW O'Moore Park at 7pm in Division 1B.
On Sunday Westmeath are in Pearse Stadium to face Galway in Division 1A at 12.30pm.
The Offaly hurlers begin life in Division 2A after their relegation last year and they will open their campaign at home. in Birr on Sunday.
It's a game that Michael Fennelly's men will need to win top get the year off to a good start.
