The announcement was made last night.
Davy Russell is to miss next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
The 41-year old hasn’t sufficiently recovered from a serious vertebrae injury sustained back in October.
Russell is the most successful active jockey at the festival having ridden 22 winners.
Just spoke to @_Davy_Russel_ who has asked me to put out the following statement sadly confirming that he will miss next month's @CheltenhamRaces Festival pic.twitter.com/KwMck24VjB
