Seir Kieran man calls it a day after stellar career
Offaly hurling star Joe Bergin has announced his retirement after a 13 year career with the Faithful County senior team.
The Seir Kieran man was a prolific scorer with his county and one of the best hurlers of the modern era in the Offaly colours.
He first played for Offaly as an 18 year old in 2006 in the National league Division One against Cork.
In all he played in 125 competitive games for the Faithful and Leinster scoring 41 goals and 299 points in a stellar career.
Brian Gavin who refereed four All-Ireland senior hurling finals says that Bergin will be remembered as one of the best players of recent times:
