He featured for the midlanders for a solitary season.
Kurtis Byrne is the latest player to formally announce his departure from Athlone Town.
The 31-year-old arrived in Westmeath after a short stint with Waterford, following a successful two year spell with TNS in Wales.
He leaves for pastures new after accumulating six league goals for Athlone during his time at the club.
Byrne becomes the first player to join the amalgamated Bray Wanderers as they absorb Cabinteely into their ranks.
He follows James Doona out the Lissywoolen exit-door after he joined Cork City following the end of the current campaign.
A number of players are expected to move from Westmeath this off-season with 14 names currently on the PFAI transfer list and Martin Russell looking to put his stamp on the squad ahead of 2022.
