Draws for the All-Ireland Qualifiers and Christy Ring have taken place.
Laois have been drawn to play Clare in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship qualifiers.
The game has been fixed for 1:15 in Nowlan Park next Saturday afternoon.
If Eddie Brennan's side can defeat the 2013 All-Ireland winners, they could face either defending champions Tipperary or Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford who received a bye into the next round.
The other first round fixture will see Cork meet Dublin.
Meanwhile Offaly have been drawn against Derry in Round 2B of the Christy Ring competition.
That game will take place at 1:30 next Saturday in Newry.
Derry were beaten by Down by three points last weekend.
The winner of that will advance to the semi-final stages to face either Kildare or Down.
