A fantastic event took place in Abbeyleix over the weekend.
It was a case of history repeating itself in both the senior divisions of cross country racing in Laois.
Mary Mulhare captured her 9th Laois Cross Country title in Abbeyleix, leading home the contingent in the senior women's race.
There was joy for hometown club Ballyroan/Abbeyleix in the team event.
It was a similar story in the senior men's race, as Colin Maher captured his third crown, finishing ahead of Cian Kelly of St. Abbans AC and Tom Lumpton from Portlaoise.
St. Abbans would go on to capture the team event with some consistent performances from their crew.
