Defeat to Carlow spelled the end of Offaly's Joe McDonagh campaign last year.
Offaly will be hoping to avoid a case of deja vu against Carlow according to the county's senior club champion manager, Trevor Fletcher.
It was Carlow that beat the Faithful County in the Joe McDonagh Cup last year to end Offaly's hopes of reaching the final.
Both sides are coming off the back of impressive wins, with Down being put to the sword by Carlow and Johnny Kelly's side registering an important and impressive win on the road to Kerry.
Fletcher says both sides have plenty to play for on Saturday:
