Shane Ryan will be aiming to hit the 100m time in three days time.
Portarlington's Shane Ryan has once again achieved the Olympic Qualifying standard in the 100m backstroke.
He equaled the time of 53.85 this morning of the Irish National Team Trials.
Ryan was a comfortable winner of his heat today, finishing almost a second clear of Larne’s Conor Ferguson.

The 27-year-old is already under consideration having swam 53.73 at the Irish Open in 2019.
He will be back in the pool in three days time looking to achieve the 100m freestyle time of 48.57.
