The Laois club launched an appeal over the officiating of the game around the buzzer.
It looks like Portlaoise Panthers may well be back in the National League First Division Promotion Play-Offs.
Despite losing their quarter final against Limerick Sport Eagles by two points, a replay is now likely after an appeal to the national body was successful.
The Panthers protested that the two free throws that decided the game after the buzzer should not have been awarded.
Despite the appeals committee deciding the free throws were awarded fairly, it's been judged that the Laois club should have been granted 0.4 of a second to restart the game.
Limerick Sport Eagles have five days to appeal this decision to Sport Ireland, otherwise both sides are set for a rematch.
