The Portlaoise squad have recruited four new players ahead of the new season.
A strengthened Portlaoise Panthers side tip-off their Super League season with some expectation this weekend.
The Laois club have recruited extensively through the off-season and have gone through an extended pre-season ahead of a new campaign.
The Panthers play host to Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell in Portlaoise on Sunday, and head coach Keith Conroy believes they're facing one of the best clubs in the country in their first fixture.
Conroy says the club have shown plenty of ambition to be ready for this season:
It's Portlaoise Panthers against Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell in St Mary's Hall on Sunday at 3.30pm
