Table Topping Athlone Town Return To Home Comforts Against Wexford

They've been quite entertaining fixtures in recent times.

Athlone Town return to the familiar surroundings of Lissywoolen this evening. 

After two away wins on the spin they face basement boys Wexford at 7.45.

The midlanders currently sit top of the SSE Airtricity League First Division following three wins on the spin. 

Despite Wexford's position they've only been losing narrowly to the likes of Shelbourne, Cabinteely, Treaty United and Cobh.

Their recent meetings have been very entertaining, producing 20 goals in the last five games with two wins for Athlone, one for Wexford and two draws in that time.

Meanwhile after a two week break, the midlanders women's team are back in action this weekend also. 

They make the trip to the South-East to take on third placed Wexford Youths.

Tommy Hewitt's team will look to cause an upset in the WNL from 6:30 tomorrow evening.
