One in four people who appear in court for using their mobile phone while driving are being convicted.
New data seen by the Irish Times shows a 25% conviction rate out of 15,000 such cases between 2018 and 2020.
Rates ranged from 14% in Co. Sligo to 36% in Co. Wicklow.
