Difficult to open packaging has been named as the biggest stress factor for older people at home.

A report by the Design Age Institute in the UK looking at the experience of people aged over-55, has called on shops to make changes to get rid of of 'ageism' in food packaging.

Push and twist caps on the likes of mouthwash were found to be among the most difficult items to open, according to analysis by the Irish Daily Mail.

It took 51 seconds to open a new bottle of Listerine that had been wrapped in tamper-proof plastic.
