A documentary showcasing the best places to walk and cycle in Westmeath has won a broadcasting award.
RTÉ broadcaster Bláthnaid Treacy was awarded the Travel Extra Travel Journalist of the Year for her episode of Tracks and Trails focusing on Westmeath.
During the episode, she travelled along the Royal Canal Greenway in Mullingar and stopped into Dún na Sí Amenity and Heritage Park.
A panel of senior Irish journalists selected the winners at the ceremony on Wednesday.
Among the guests on her travels were GAA personality Dessie Dolan, local tour guide Justin Moffatt, and Mullingar musician Bressie.
