Over 60 new homes are coming to the midlands.
Westmeath County Council has struck a deal with Coolsivna Construction for the development of 62 units.
Mullingar will be home to 54 of those - with 22 due to be built in St. Bridget's Terrace, Robinstown Road will benefit from 17 new homes and 15 will be developed adjacent to Ennell Court.
The remaining eight will be built at Water Street in Castlepollard.
Each of those will also include the provision of parking spaces and site development works.
Construction is due to begin in November of this year.
The houses will be designed to nearly Zero Energy Building standard, and use the latest Air-to-Water heating technology.
50 homes will be designed to Universal Design Standards and will be suitable for older persons.
