New CSO figures also show the average age of people who gave birth rose to 32 years of age.
Westmeath recorded the highest number of births at 311, Laois registered 288 and Offaly welcomed 248 newborns to the faithful county.
The most popular age group giving birth was the 30-34 range -- which accounted for 38% of the babies born in the region.
While half the babies registered in Laois were born outside of marriage.
Leitrim had the lowest birthrate in the country at just 127.
Meanwhile there were 430 deaths in the Midlands during same three month period .
There was almost a 50/50 split of men and women, the only region in the country to record such an even divide.
Westmeath had the most deaths in total with 149, Laois recorded 141 and 140 people passed away in Offaly.
Laois and Offaly had the lowest number of deaths due to dementia and Alzheimers in Leinster.
