Agricultural Minister Heckled By Farmers At Fianna Fáil Think-In

The IFA is protesting against a cut to nitrates limits and delays to payment dates.

The Agriculture Minister has been heckled by farmers outside the Fianna Fáil think-in in County Tipperary.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin and Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue have been meeting with IFA leadership through the morning. 

Regional Chair of the South Leinster IFA, Ballinakill's Francie Gorman says the changes in nitrate limits will hit them hard:

Farmers are hugely frustrated with the Agriculture Minister, according to the IFA. 

They've been protesting all day outside the Fianna Fáil think-in at the Horse and Jockey Hotel in County Tipperary. 

The IFA has called on the minister to further appeal a reduction in the amount of nitrates farmers can use in Ireland.
