Deporting asylum seekers is not the right way to end Direct Provision.
That's according to the President of Athlone IT's Students' Union, Áine Daly, as two its students face deportation on September 2nd.
David and Fortunate Nesengani moved to Ireland from South Africa in 2016.
They had already been refused refugee status, but all deportations were suspended during the pandemic.
Áine says they will do everything they can to protect their students and is appealing to Justice Minister Helen McEntee to revoke the order:
