A Midlands MEP is warning the European Union that current housing funding is nowhere near enough to tackle Ireland’s housing crisis.
Ciaran Mullooly is highlighting that €61 million would only fund 120 new homes, calling for greater transparency in EU fund reallocations.
European Commission Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto admitted the shortfall, describing the situation as an emergency and promising new policy tools and broader engagement with regional strategies.
