They'll come in the form of three housing projects.
Approval has been granted for 103 new social houses in Laois.
67 new homes are to be built by the Clúid Approved Housing Body on the site of the former CBS site in Portlaoise.
These new houses will then be let out to people on the Laois County Council housing list.
The project will be delivered in three phases, with the first stage due be completed by the end of 2022.
Site preparation works have recently commenced on this project.
18 units will also be built on Derry Road in Durrow, with an expected delivery date of 2023.
This project will see nine one-bed, four two-bed and five three-bed homes constructed.
These new homes are in addition to the Sean Doire housing project for 22 houses already in progress on the Cork Road in Durrow.
Portarlington is also to benefit as Laois County Council has been approved to acquire 18 homes in Market Square, 15 of which are proposed for elderly residents.
