It's according to the EPA's latest report.
The bathing water at a Westmeath lake has been deemed 'poor' for the second year running.
The Environmental Protection Agency's latest report shows Lilliput at Lough Ennell is mainly polluted by diffuse agriculture, with septic tank discharges and birds also potential.
Westmeath County Council carried out extensive investigations in 2019, to try to identify the source of the pollution.
A nearby stream, which is thought to be affecting the water quality of the lake, is also being investigated.
In total 147 water bodies were assessed in the report, with 140 meeting the minimum required standard.
