Bus Éireann is being urged to sit down and discuss plans for a new pick-up point with midlands schools.
Students from Athlone Community College, Marist College and Our Lady's Bower Secondary School will soon get the bus from Athlone Town Stadium, instead of on the Retreat Road.
Bus Éireann says the move is due to an increase in the level of traffic in the area, and will be in operation in the next number of weeks.
However, it's sparked concerns from school staff and parents, who note some pupils will have to cross the Greenway to reach the location.
