An Offaly councillor says families in county are falling through the cracks because they don't meet the eligibility limits for social housing.
Fianna Fáil's Robert McDermott is calling on the Housing Minister to urgently finalise an ongoing review into income thresholds.
He says many people aren't earning enough to be considered for a mortgage, but also don't qualify for social housing and have to look to the rental market for a place to live.
The Edenderry councillor says these thresholds haven't been reviewed since 2011 and feels the current system is seriously unfair:
