Calls For 18 Year Olds To Receive "Culture And Media" Voucher

The aim is to support our arts and culture sector.

Young people should to be gifted a €200 culture and media card from the Government on their 18th birthday.

Midlands-North West MEP Colm Markey is making the call after attending the Fleadh in Westmeath this week.

He says seeing the exceptional talent and rich cultural heritage on offer in Mullingar, made him think that we can do more to support our indigenous arts and culture sector from a young age.

The Fine Gael rep says the voucher will allow teenagers access to theatres, museums and galleries:
